SINTESI
is a non-profit association, born in 1991 as a training Consortium between
Universities and enterprises within the framework of COMETT, the European
Community action programme in Education
and Training for Technology. Today SINTESI is accredited to the Sicilian
Regional Government for high education and vocational training.
Since
its birth, SINTESI is engaged in the promotion and development of co-operation
between Universities and enterprises in
SINTESI
is also committed in the promotion of co-operation between Universities and
Public Bodies, through the common planning of European-level initiatives for
the realisation of innovative actions.
SINTESI is convinced that the valorisation of
the human resources and technologic innovation of the production processes are
key factors for the growth of the regional system. Therefore a policy has
been launched in order to both invest into High Education and provide
incentives for the mobility of University students, young graduates and the
staff of Universities, public administrations
and partner bodies.
SINTESI, besides its activity of information and sensitisation of the European High Education Programmes, organises and creates pilot actions of analysis, education and updating in new technologies, carries out studies about the educational and technology innovation needs of the Sicilian small and medium sized enterprises, is committed in the creation of innovative European projects, rendering technical assistance for the realisation and management of European-level projects.
In June 2003 SINTESI,
together with the University of Palermo, Easy Integrazione di Sistemi srl and
Sviluppo Italia Sicilia, has constituted the ARCA business incubator (a
consortium for both the promotion of research applications and the creation of
innovative enterprises), in the aim of promoting the start-up and development
of entrepreneurial initiatives in the Sicilian Region, by favouring, in the
business sector, the enforcement of those theoretical and practical principles
and competences which are object of the research activity.
Since October 2005, through a service contract, SINTESI
is providing consultancy, technical assistance and operational support to the
staff of the “Unità Operativa Progetti Comunitari dell'Università degli Studi
di Palermo” (the Community Project Office of the
In December 2007 SINTESI has had its quality
management system certificated by ISO 9001:2000 for its activities of project
and post-university/orientation education and University-Enterprise connections
services.
SINTESI plays indeed the key role of heightening
initiatives of education, technological innovation and research at a national
and European level thanks to both its experience and its solid networking
system.
Through SINTESI, Universities, enterprises, research and education centres, public bodies are made able to find the best reference people for their European common projects. |
